Helping You Stay Warm Over Winter

Heating Tips That’ll Leave You Warm All Winter

As we’re so far into the Winter months we would like to help you with some simple tips and tricks for heating up your home. Our team at Solutions Plumbing & Heating find it very common to have phone calls come in where a client will ask how they can improve the temperature in their property. So to help, we have came up with solutions for all of our clients with any budget, with the hope that we can help you to stay warm all Winter.

Covering a range of options for heating up your home, we hope that you can have a lovely, warm home all Winter from the suggestions we provided. Within this post we have came up with 4 tips to help warm up your home on those cold nights and early mornings. Don’t panic if you think they’re out of budget, we’ll start with the most promising and effective and work down to the most affordable. Let’s see how it goes!

1. Underfloor Heating

A underfloor heating system is a fantastic choice for heating your home through as you can feel the warmth come through no matter where you are in the room. Available on all floors of your home, underfloor heating is the perfect answer for anyone looking for a long lasting solution to heating their home up throughout Winter or cold days.

2. Increase Wall Insulation

By increasing the insulation in your wall you are effectively adding more layers or cover to your home, making it even harder for the cold to come through. By doing simple things like adding more wall insulation or putting draft excluders in your home, you will be able to prevent any cold coming in. Small things like this are easy and quick ways you can stay warm this Winter without needing to spend huge amounts.

3. Timing Your Heating

With a lot of homeowners reverting to using timers on their heating, we are massively pushing this to make sure all of our customers come on board with doing this. Instead of leaving the heating on by mistake, you can rest comfortably knowing that you have the heating on a timer to warm your home through exactly when you would like to. Perfect, and cost friendly!

4. Electric Heaters

This should come as a last resort as although they are cheaper from the likes of underfloor heating, this can cost a lot more than your regular heating. Having said this, using electric heaters do work and will warm up a room but they will cost more in electricity. Where possible stick to your regular heating and stand next to it as it warms through, this way you won’t be hit with a nasty electricity bill at the end of the month.

In terms of halogen heaters or portable heaters, these are brilliant for the short term when you need warming up but as soon as they’re turned off the heat disappears. So for in the office or in your living room you pay find these very useful but they’ll only keep you warm whilst they’re on, whereas heating can maintain heat for longer, even when turning off.
